New England Maple Acorn Squash

Ingredients

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400-degrees F.
  • 2. Cut squash in half and remove seeds and pulp that is attached to seeds.
  • 3. Place 2 tbsp. of butter, 1/4 tsp. of Wild Cheff Sagebrush Spice Blend, 1/2 of the Wild Cheff Maple Sausage Spice Blend, pepper and 3-4 tbsp. of maple syrup in each half.
  • 4. Cover squash tightly with foil and place in casserole dish and place into oven.
  • 5. Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour until done.
  • 6. Test squash by taking tip of steak knife and trying to insert into skin of squash. (When knife goes into squash easily, they are done.)
  • 7. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • 8. In mixing bowl empty juices and then remove squash from skin. Mash and serve as side dish.
